The Kangadis Food Tradition

In the Kangadis family, food is our legacy. It all started in 1969 when husband and wife Aristidis and Andromahi Kangadis began operating a grocery market in Queens, New York, and offered the dishes of their native Greece. Their sons Themis and Dennis Kangadis grew up in the food industry, and they have a true appreciation of the joy that people experience when tasting delicious Mediterranean dishes that are prepared with the finest ingredients. As they moved from running a grocery store to importing food themselves, the Kangadis family established Gourmet Factory for the distribution of olive oil and other specialty food items.

Today, Gourmet Factory is still owned and operated by the Kangadis family, and our superior-quality food products include:

  • Olive oil – We offer 100 percent pure olive oil and extra virgin olive oil under brands including Capatriti, Porto, Kivotos, and Lakonia. 
  • Cooking oils – Our light and flavorful corn, vegetable, canola, and blended oils are great for baking and cooking. Cooking oil brands include Capatriti, Porto, Pureola, Sevilla Mia, and Olio Villa.
  • Olives – We source olives from around the world to provide green, black, and Calamata olives that are delectable in recipes as well as just for snacking. Our olives are sold under the Porto brand.
